Library Committee

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide general direction to the library.
- Formulate an action plan for the development of library infrastructure, facilities, products and services.
- Outline the collection development policy as needed and oversee its implementation.
- Review the library’s support to the academic programmes of the institute.
- Evaluate suggestions received from users.
- Prepare budget estimates and allocate funds for procurement of books.
- Suggest ways to generate revenue from library resources.
- Assist in stock verification and in handling unserviceable, old, missing or written-off books, including replacement.
- Recommend staffing, building, furniture and fitting requirements of the library.
- Act on users’ irregularities such as late return and misconduct beyond the control of the librarian.
- Perform any other function assigned by the Chairperson.
- Meet at least once every quarter.
